  • What Jesus’ Resurrection Says About Your Future [No Matter Who You Are]

Your Future Is Tied To Jesus’ Resurrection

We have a fascination with the future. I loved watching the Jetsons growing up. Do you remember them? The future hasn’t yet caught up with them! We to try to imagine what it’s going to be like. Some very popular TV shows (Star Trek) and movies (Star Wars) are about the future. Some people are so interested they go to palm readers or fortune tellers in the hope of learning something about their future.

Future sign

It’s fun to watch futuristic TV and movies but they are all just products of someone’s imagination. In the Bible we have been blessed with information about the future that is certain. What’s fascinating is that our future is connected with Jesus’ resurrection.  In 1 Corinthians 15:20-28 Paul tells us 3 things that are true about the future because Jesus was raised from the dead.

3 Things Jesus’ Resurrection Means for Our Future

  1. It means there are more resurrections to come. It was a miracle that Jesus rose from the dead. Jesus was the first person to rise from the dead, never to die again. 1 Corinthians 15:20 says Jesus is the “firstfruits” of those who have already died. More resurrections will follow. [Tweet “The incredible miracle of the resurrection is going to happen for all in Christ!”] This life is not all there is. Jesus’ resurrection proved there is more to come
  2. It means there will be life after death for all those in Christ! Those who are “in Christ,” who have believed in Jesus will be resurrected to eternal life and joy! This truth is as certain as death. That doesn’t seem like a joyful way to put it, but Paul says,“As in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive” 1 Corinthians 15:22. We have a glorious eternity with God to look forward to living.
  3. It means a future final reckoning for all of God’s enemies. This is not good news for those who oppose Christ. Evil spirits associated with Satan, all people who oppose Him and death itself will be defeated. All God’s enemies will be subjected to Him and face eternal destruction. 1 Corinthians 15:24-27

[Tweet “There will come a day in the future when all who oppose God will pay for their actions”]

Jesus’ resurrection makes it certain that one day all who oppose God will be paid back.

We live in an unjust world. We live faithful lives and watch as it appears the ungodly get away with all kinds of evil. The resurrection of Jesus confirms for us that there will come a day when all will stand before Him and have to answer. Your faithfulness will be rewarded and their disobedience will be punished. That is the future.

Stand firm, my friends!

The Cross Changed Things More Than Many Realize

Ward Cushman

My journey of faith started when I was nine years old when I realized that Jesus died and rose again to pay for my sins. At the age of thirteen I felt the call of God on my life for ministry.

I have been fortunate to work in the marketplace for over ten years and in full-time Christian ministry for over thirty years.

My passion is to teach God's Word in such a way that it is easy to understand and so that God uses it to bring about life change in those who hear it.

It is my greatest joy to see God work through me to produce fruit for His glory!
