God Had a High View of Job
No one has ever gone through more adversity than the biblical character Job. At times we feel sorry for him and other times we feel just like him. When we think of him we usually think about all of the pain and suffering he endured.
Today I’d like to give you a different perspective. I want you to see what God thought of Job. Here are three things God did for him you may not have seen before.
3 Things God Did For Job
- God noticed Job’s faithfulness.
There was a divine council in heaven. Satan was there with all the other angels. Job 1:8 says,
And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man who fears God and turns away from evil?”
Often we skip over this verse quickly. Do you realize that God was bragging about Job? He was proud of Job. God had watched him and noticed his character, his faithfulness.

My friends, God notices your faithfulness, too.
- He sees how hard you work for Him, when no one else does.
- He sees when you give your time and energy to others often without any thanks.
- He sees your integrity when you don’t click on a seductive link in spam email.
- He sees that you are honest at work.
- He see you faithfully give to His church.
- He sees when you pray earnestly for those you love.
I think He brags about you and He’s proud of you, too!
Then Satan accuses God of bribing Job. What God does next is incredible!
- God trusted Job’s faithfulness.
God put His reputation on the line for Job, twice! First He told Satan he could attack him, but he couldn’t hurt him. Later God said Satan could attack Job but Satan couldn’t take his life.

He does the same thing with you and me every time he allows Satan to attack us. It is amazing that God trusts us that much! Every adversity, challenge and attack is an opportunity to prove God right!
As we skip to the end of the story we see something else that’s quite encouraging.
- God honored Job’s faithfulness.
God straightened out Job’s perspective in Job 38-41, then he did three things for Job.
- God rebuked his friends.
- God elevated his status.
- God restored his fortunes and more!
When you face opposition be faithful and let the Lord fight for you. Love and pray for those who persecute you. Let the Lord lift you up. He will. And He will bless you.
And the Lord blessed the latter days of Job more than his beginning. Job 42:12
Today you are either being blessed, being attacked or being blessed even more. Stand firm in the Lord, brothers and sisters.
